Earlier in the week, we published a blog about bees and elephants, noting how elephants are so terrified of bees that they may even have a "word" for the buzzy insects.
On National Honey Bee Day, we wanted to revisit that blog, while also noting that bees and elephants have a burgeoning, unusual relationship brewing. Taking note of the fear that elephants have of bees, some researchers are studying how bees can be used to keep elephants from entering into conflict with humans. The program, called Elephants and Bees, already has programs in 10 African countries.
Look for more on this relationship in an upcoming Moving Giants feature.
